iPhone 18, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max Screen Size, Display Features and Specifications

The iPhone 18 generation includes significant changes to Apple’s display, processing, camera and connectivity technology. For users in the UAE researching the iPhone 18 screen size and specifications, there is an important difference between the models currently available and those still expected.

Apple officially introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on 9 September 2026, with availability in the UAE beginning on 18 September. The standard iPhone 18 has not yet been officially announced and is currently expected in spring 2027, meaning its specifications remain based on reports rather than final Apple documentation.

iPhone 18 Series Screen Sizes

The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display.

The standard iPhone 18 is also expected to feature a screen of approximately 6.3 inches. Current reports suggest it will use an LTPO OLED panel capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, although Apple has not officially confirmed these details.

The Pro Max therefore provides substantially more display area, while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro are expected to remain close in overall screen size.

iPhone 18 Pro Display Specifications

The iPhone 18 Pro uses a 6.3-inch all-screen OLED display with a resolution of 2622 × 1206 pixels and a pixel density of 460 pixels per inch.

Because the screen has rounded corners, Apple states that the actual diagonal measurement is approximately 6.27 inches when measured as a standard rectangle.

The larger iPhone 18 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2868 × 1320 pixels, while maintaining the same 460 ppi pixel density.

Does the iPhone 18 Have a 120Hz Display?

Both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max officially support ProMotion with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.

Rather than operating continuously at 120Hz, the display can adjust its refresh rate according to what is happening on screen. This helps provide smoother scrolling and animation while reducing unnecessary power consumption.

The standard iPhone 18 is also currently expected to feature an LTPO display with refresh rates up to 120Hz. Reports have pointed to a 6.3-inch 120Hz panel with Dynamic Island, but these specifications remain unofficial until the phone is announced.

iPhone 18 Display Brightness and Outdoor Visibility

Apple rates the displays on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max at up to 1,000 nits of typical brightness, 1,600 nits for HDR content and as much as 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.

The displays can also reduce brightness to 1 nit.

The 3,000-nit outdoor peak is particularly relevant in the UAE, where smartphones are frequently used in strong daylight. Higher outdoor brightness can make text, maps, photographs and other on-screen information easier to view under bright conditions.

Both Pro displays also feature an anti-reflective coating and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Dimensions

Screen size describes the diagonal measurement of the display rather than the complete dimensions of the phone.

The iPhone 18 Pro measures 150.0 mm high, 71.9 mm wide and 8.75 mm deep, with a weight of 211 grams.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is larger at 163.4 mm high and 78.0 mm wide, although its depth remains 8.75 mm. It weighs 249 grams.

The Pro Max offers more screen space, but the larger display also results in a noticeably taller, wider and heavier device.

iPhone 18 Processor and Performance

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip.

The processor includes a six-core CPU with two high-performance cores and four efficiency cores. Apple pairs this with a seven-core GPU featuring Neural Accelerators and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing is also supported.

The standard iPhone 18 is currently expected to use the A20 chip, although Apple has not confirmed its processor configuration.

iPhone 18 Camera Specifications

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature Apple’s 48MP Pro Fusion camera system.

The rear setup includes a 48MP Fusion Main camera, 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera and 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera.

One of the most notable changes is the variable aperture system on the main camera. It offers f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0 aperture settings, giving the camera more control over incoming light and depth of field.

The 48MP Telephoto provides a 100 mm 4x view and additional optical-quality telephoto capability.

iPhone 18 Video Recording Features

The Pro camera system supports video recording at up to 4K Dolby Vision, including frame rates of up to 120 fps with the Fusion Main camera.

It also supports Cinematic mode, Action mode, ProRes, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, spatial video and external recording features aimed at more advanced video workflows.

The 18MP Center Stage front camera can record 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 60 fps and includes autofocus, Dual Capture and Center Stage functionality.

iPhone 18 Storage Specifications

Both officially released Pro models start at 256GB of storage and are available in capacities reaching 2TB.

The higher capacities provide additional local space for 4K footage, ProRes video, high-resolution photographs, applications and offline files.

Apple has not yet announced the storage capacities for the standard iPhone 18.

iPhone 18 Battery Life

The larger physical size of the Pro Max allows it to deliver longer rated battery life.

Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro for up to 36 hours of video playback, while the Pro Max reaches as much as 45 hours.

Both models support fast charging. Apple states that compatible 60W-capable charging hardware can recharge the battery to approximately 50% in around 15 minutes.

iPhone 18 Wireless Charging

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max support both MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

USB-C is also included for wired charging, DisplayPort connectivity and USB 3 data transfers at speeds of up to 10Gb/s.

iPhone 18 Connectivity in the UAE

The iPhone 18 Pro series supports 5G connectivity, Gigabit LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, Thread networking and second-generation Ultra Wideband technology.

Apple also lists its N1 wireless networking chip and Apple C2 cellular modem among the connectivity hardware.

These specifications are particularly relevant when checking a UAE model because regional cellular and SIM configurations can differ from versions sold in other markets.

UAE iPhone 18 Pro Models Are eSIM-Only

A major regional specification for UAE users is that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max sold for the UAE market use eSIM and do not support physical SIM cards.

Apple’s UAE specifications state that the devices support Dual eSIM, allowing two eSIMs to remain active simultaneously while storing eight or more eSIM profiles.

Apple specifically lists the UAE among the markets receiving eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro models and identifies UAE carriers including e& and du as supporting eSIM technology.

This makes the UAE specification different from some international iPhone variants, so specifications from another country should not automatically be assumed to apply to a UAE device.

iPhone 18 Pro Water and Dust Resistance

Both Pro models carry an IP68 rating under IEC standard 60529.

Apple specifies resistance at a maximum depth of six metres for up to 30 minutes under controlled laboratory conditions.

An IP68 rating does not mean the phone is permanently waterproof. Water and dust resistance can decrease through everyday wear.

What Operating System Does the iPhone 18 Pro Use?

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max ship with iOS 27.

The operating system includes Apple Intelligence and Siri AI integration alongside Apple’s standard privacy, communication, productivity and accessibility functionality.

iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro Max Specifications

The two Pro models share most of their core hardware. Their largest differences are screen size, overall dimensions, weight and battery life.

Is the Standard iPhone 18 Available in the UAE?

No. As of 22 September 2026, Apple has officially released the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the UAE, but the standard iPhone 18 has not been announced.

Multiple reports indicate that Apple is using a split release schedule, with the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e expected in spring 2027.

Current reports suggest the standard model could feature a 6.3-inch 120Hz LTPO display, Dynamic Island and an A20 processor. These details should still be considered provisional rather than final specifications.
